This washing station is owned by small scale farmers located in Mukurweini-Nyeri county whose small farms (about 0.2 ha) are spread and tucked between the Tumutumu hills and Mt Kenya highlands. The farms are spread at an impressive altitude of 1750m to 1820m, Maganjo is a part of the Rumukia cooperative society together with 2 other washing stations/factories. The number of active farmers who deliver the coffee are about 800.

All the coffee is fully washed, the ripe coffee cherries are picked and delivered to the factory, they will be pulped and dry fermented for 24 hours. Thereafter the coffee is washed with clean water from the river Ragati and dried on raised beds.
The predominant variety of coffee grown is SL28, SL 34.

The farmers practice mixed farming within their small farms, they will grow coffee as the primary cash earning crop and will also plant food items like maize/corn, beans, potatoes and vegetables for the family consumption.

The factory has 9 permanent employees and it employs 20-30 casual workers from the neighboring community during the peak of the harvesting season.

It has citrus acidity like grapefruit and berry acidity like blueberry and raspberry, with a sweetness similar to mango and a hint of walnut paste, and a creamy mouthfeel.
