It has a beautiful fruitiness of stone fruits such as peach and mango, with a floral aroma as if you hold a bouquet of flowers, followed by a honey-like sweetness. Located on the opposite side of the lake from the famous Bolivian farm Agrotakesi, the flavours are very similar.

Puno is one of the regions of the country best known for its high and cold lands, for its great mountains, its folklore and for the Titicaca lake at 3812 meters above sea level shared with the country of Bolivia. However, in recent years it has also stood out for the quality of its coffees, because in addition to mountainous and very cold landscapes, Puno is home to rainforests and tropical valleys where specialty coffees grow.

The district and community of Alto Inambari owe their name to the fact that they are located in the upper part of the Inambari river basin that flows into the Peruvian Amazon. In this area, families depend mainly on coffee to generate income, although they also grow other products such as avocado, hot pepper, citrus, banana, among others. In addition, they traditionally cultivate the sacred coca leaf to make "payments to Pachamama" and to recharge while working in the fields. "Chacchar coca" is a very common practice in the Andean culture where a few coca leaves are chewed making a small bolus that is kept inside the mouth between the cheek and jaw. Chacchar coca is used to avoid the effects of altitude, hunger and fatigue, which is why in Alto Inambari families usually use it in their daily lives.

Most of the families in Alto Inambari speak Quechua and practice Andean culture traditions to this day, an example of which is the “ayni”, a popular Tahuantinsuyo custom that is practiced to this day in many Peruvian communities. "Ayni" is a Quechua word that means reciprocity and that is precisely what this custom is about. When there is ayni, help from one family to another is practiced when needed, it is a reciprocal and supportive work: Today for you, tomorrow for me.
